Frequently Asked Questions
Learn more about VASHK, our team, services, and how we support clinics and pet families across Hong Kong.
VASHK provides four key benefits to veterinary practices: cost efficiency by eliminating the need for full-time anaesthesia staff; improved outcomes through evidence-based protocols and advanced monitoring; capability uplift via hands-on case support and in-clinic as well as off-site training; and seamless partnership with fully equipped mobile services that integrate into existing workflows.
Research shows many pet owners are concerned about anaesthesia, and they are more likely to agree to surgery when a dedicated professional manages it. Partnering with VASHK gives your clinic the expertise and reassurance clients look for when deciding on procedures.
VASHK arrives fully equipped with capnography, pulse oximetry, blood pressure monitors, temperature monitoring, ventilator-assisted respiratory support, ultrasound for nerve blocks, and advanced pain management pharmaceuticals. Depending on case needs, we can also provide additional monitoring and anaesthesia support tools throughout the perioperative period.
Our three-step service model includes: (1) pre-surgical consultation for risk assessment, protocol design, and case quotation; (2) on-site anaesthesia delivery with all necessary equipment; and (3) recovery and documentation with continuous monitoring and a comprehensive anaesthetic report handover.
Yes. VASHK offers hands-on training and education as part of our service model. We provide in-clinic as well as regular workshops that elevate your team's anaesthesia practice to top-tier standards through direct case support and knowledge sharing. This educational component is integral to our mission of improving anaesthesia safety and capability across Hong Kong's veterinary community.
Dr Chen brings substantial teaching and educational experience from his time as a teaching-focused clinician at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Sydney. His comprehensive clinical training across multiple referral hospitals in Australia and Hong Kong provides him with the expertise to effectively educate veterinary teams on advanced anaesthesia techniques and safety protocols.
Through our hands-on case support and integrated training approach, your team gains practical experience with advanced monitoring equipment, evidence-based protocols, and specialised techniques like ultrasound-guided nerve blocks. This ongoing educational partnership helps develop your team's anaesthesia capabilities while maintaining clinical workflow. We also provide education rounds and workshops regularly that your team can sign up for.
